Welcome! After being a dentist for over 32 years, I still truly love coming to work each day. Our patients light up every day and I strive to make each visit a positive and comfortable experience.

Education

In order to become a dentist, I attained the following certificates:

• Undergraduate Degree, Duke University, 1974
• Doctor of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, 1978
• John Hopkins Hospital Comprehensive Childcare Clinic, 1979

Continuing Education

Although my formal education was complete over 30 years ago, my profession is constantly changing! In order to always provide our patients with the highest quality of care, I always strive to stay on top of the latest dental methods and technologies.

As a part of my continuing education, I have been a part of the visiting faculty for the L.D. Pankey Institute for Continuing Dental Education since 1998. I am also part of the dean's faculty at the University of Maryland Dental School Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry Residency. I also attained my fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1985, and my mastership in 1992. These experiences, along with over 80 hours of continuing education I participate in per year, ensure that I provide truly individualized treatment with a better understanding of each patient.

In the Practice

I have been practicing dentistry for the past 32 years, with over 25 years in the same location! I focus on restorative dentistry, esthetics, and occlusal therapy in my work.

Through my profession, I have learned a lot about the people of this community, and have built some very rewarding friendships. I am learning from my patients constantly, and by listening to them, I strive to have a clearer idea of how to provide treatment that is specific to their needs.

Our staff here is a great bunch special people that bring wonderful attitudes and a wide variety of talents to work every day. They are always able to provide comprehensive care to our patients with a gentle touch.

Family Life

I was born and raised in Annapolis, and have lived in Baltimore since 1974! My wife, Nancy, is also a dentist. Our three children are Jed, Lucy, and Devon, who is also a dentist. We also have Palmer, our pet dog. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, travel, exercise, and drinking good wine. I am also active in our community, and have been a member of the Bay Area Community Church for the past ten years.
